Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Island Trucking handles your personal data under the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act, 2017 (the "DPA"). Island Trucking is the data controller for the information you provide when placing an order or contacting us.
1. Controller and contact
Island Trucking
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Email: islandtrucking345@gmail.com
Phone: +1 (345) 325-9897
2. What personal data we collect
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Delivery address and district
- Order contents and total
- Optional order notes you choose to provide
We do not collect or store payment card data. Orders are paid by Cash on Delivery or by bank / account transfer made directly to our bank.
3. Why we use it and lawful basis
We use your data to accept, prepare, deliver, and account for your order. This processing is necessary to perform our contract with you (DPA Schedule 2, contractual necessity), so no separate consent is required for the order itself.
Marketing emails are only sent if you tick the separate opt-in box at checkout. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing us.
4. Who we share it with
- Supabase (Lovable Cloud) — database and authentication hosting.
- Resend — transactional email delivery, if enabled.
- Our delivery drivers — receive your name, address, and phone to complete delivery.
We do not sell your data. We never share it for third-party marketing.
5. International transfers
Some processors are located outside the Cayman Islands (e.g. the United States or European Union). Where data leaves the Islands, we rely on the processor's own contractual data protection commitments and industry-standard security (encryption in transit and at rest) as the safeguard.
6. How long we keep it
Active order records are retained for operational and accounting purposes. Delivered orders older than 24 monthsare automatically anonymised: your name, phone, email, and address are replaced with redacted placeholders while order totals and line items are retained for accounting only.
7. Your rights
Under the DPA you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data (rectification)
- Request erasure where lawful
- Require us to stop or restrict processing
- Object to direct marketing
Submit a request via our privacy request form. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use only cookies strictly necessary to keep the site working (for example, your cart and admin session). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Ombudsman, Cayman Islands at ombudsman.ky.
